Ms. Suhashini Marian Silva has been collaborated with International Fovea-Z Biomedical since May 2024. Suhashini Silva began her academic journey in Biomedical Sciences in 2013 with the Pearson BTEC Higher National Diploma, where she graduated with an overall distinction in 2015. This solid foundation laid the groundwork for her later achievements in the biomedical field, equipping her with essential laboratory and research skills early on.


In 2015, she undertook specialized training in molecular diagnostics at Gene Tech Molecular Diagnostics, Colombo. This experience contributed to her growing expertise, particularly in diagnostic techniques, which would become pivotal in her future roles and research endeavors.


Suhashini then pursued her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science at the University of Wolverhampton, graduating in 2016 with Second Class Upper Division honors. Her final-year research focused on the immune response to dengue virus epitopes, showcasing her dedication to immunological studies and disease management. Her academic performance led to her being awarded the batch top, recognizing her commitment to excellence.


In 2016 and 2017, Suhashini gained hands-on experience as a Trainee Medical Scribe in Internal Medicine with MedSource (Pvt) Ltd, Colombo. This role allowed her to apply her biomedical knowledge in a practical healthcare setting, deepening her understanding of medical documentation and patient care.


Between 2017 and 2019, she completed her Master of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Colombo, where her research on lipid metabolism in pregnant women advanced her knowledge in biochemical research. She presented her findings at multiple scientific forums, gaining recognition in the Sri Lankan biomedical research community, including an award for the best oral communication at the SLALAS conference.


Since 2019, Suhashini has served as an Assistant Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences at CINEC Campus, Malabe. She has also coordinated modules and contributed to curriculum development for the Higher National Diploma in Biomedical Sciences, leveraging her extensive academic and research background to mentor the next generation of biomedical professionals.
